Fearless

There are not many instances that I can call myself fearless…but I do know that I can call myself fearless when it comes to creating out of fabric. I have always been drawn to bright textiles, I love seeing colors dance within a mix of print and texture. What does it mean to be a fearless sewer? Since I am a goal oriented gal, my goal was to be able to create anything out of textiles that I could ever want or dream to create. It took almost 30 years to achieve this goal and it is my grandest goal achievement yet. So what comes next now that I can make anything I want? This is the part I have been working for all this time. If I can make anything out of textiles, then I can literally make anything I want to so the designing becomes a more amplified focus and the actual sewing together process happens at the top speed of any machine I meet. I am 30 years in and I am just dangling my toe in the pond of possibilities. With textile mastery, you also open the door to be able to use any textiles that are available as long as you are willing to let design evolve organically without forcing anything. I have learned that in my whimsical sewing method, I can’t get stuck on a specific picture in my head, but instead I use adaptable outlines and I am not scared of making mistakes. The more fearless I am, the more creative and elaborate garments I can create in the shortest amount of time, with great ease and flow. Every time I sew I try something new and I am excited to say the options are endless and I work to remain fearless. Check out my latest, fearless creations in the SHOP or on my WEBSITE !
